My Review about it!

Dirt cake cup with gummy worms on a patio table next to an open pink Crumbl box

In this house, dirt is a food group. We were halfway through making dirt cups — chocolate pudding, crushed cookies, gummy worms, the full kindergarten classic — when the Crumbl box opened and the control group became the experiment. The cookie went on the counter next to the cups like it was challenging them.

At $5.49, served warm, it costs about what our whole tray of homemade cups did, which the kids found hilarious and I pretended not to. At 810 calories it is a share-size cookie; cut into quarters next to the cups, it held its own in a field of strong competitors.

The first bite is deep, dark chocolate — a proper cocoa base under cookies & cream crumbs, fudge frosting on top, and yes, the gummy worm, which an adult is legally allowed to eat first. It is richer and more chocolate-forward than the pudding cups; the cups are creamier and colder. The kids called it ‘the dirt cup that grew up,’ and they were not wrong.

We finished the cookie before the cups, which were supposed to be the point of the afternoon. It is the most chocolate you can get at Crumbl this week without ordering the brownie, and the worm is not a gimmick — it is the whole nostalgic argument in one bite. Warm, with milk, ideally while someone small is making a mess nearby.

What I liked

  • Deepest chocolate flavor on the menu this week
  • Fudge frosting plus crumb coating — texture sorted
  • The gummy worm is nostalgia done right

What I didn’t

  • 810 calories of chocolate commitment
  • Crumbs go everywhere — it sheds
  • Rich enough that a solo finish is a project

Compared with the Rainbow Shake Cookie: Rainbow Shake is cold buttercream and candy crunch over a pale sugar cookie, while Dirt Cake is warm, dark and fudge-heavy. One tastes like a milkshake, the other like a pudding cup that grew up. They are the two most playful items of the week — pick chocolate or vanilla and commit.

A chocolate dream! 😋 I love the chocolatey cookie with sweet chocolate icing. The gummy worm makes me feel like a kid again. Rich and delightful. Definitely a cookie to enjoy slow with a glass of milk.
