My Review about it!

Pumpkin cheesecake cookie slice with coffee and a book next to an open pink Crumbl box

I bake a pumpkin pie every November that my family requests by name, so this cookie got the notebook treatment: plate, pen, and a slice of my own pie next to it for reference. That is either quality control or insecurity, and I have decided it is quality control.

It is $4.49 and served chilled, which is the first thing it gets right — pumpkin cheesecake should be cold, with the frosting firm. At 850 calories it sits with the cakes at the top of this week’s chart, so the notebook entry started with ‘share it’ underlined twice. I did not share it.

The first bite is graham first — buttery, a little salty — then the pumpkin cheesecake frosting, which is properly spiced rather than pumpkin-flavored candy. The streusel on top gives back the crunch the frosting takes away. Against my pie: the cookie is sweeter and richer, the pie is spicier and lighter, and they are genuinely different desserts wearing the same color.

Notebook conclusion, since this one gets one: the spice balance is the thing I would steal — warm without the raw cinnamon burn cheap pumpkin spice leaves behind. It will not replace pie at my table, but as a chilled, grab-and-go version of the same idea, it is the most grown-up cookie Crumbl put out this week.

What I liked

  • Spice is balanced — no raw cinnamon burn
  • Graham base is buttery and a little salty
  • Frosting is firm and properly chilled

What I didn’t

  • 850 calories — top of the week’s chart
  • Sweeter than real pumpkin pie
  • Needs to stay cold — the frosting softens fast

Compared with the Cookies & Cream Tres Leches Cake: the tres leches is a chocolate cake drowned happily in milk sauce, soft enough to eat with a spoon, while this cookie stays firm, spiced and sliceable. The cake is the richer soak; the cheesecake cookie is the tidier dessert. Both want to be eaten cold, straight from the fridge.
