My Review about it!
I picked up a large Pink Sugar Cookie Cake on a whim the last time it popped up on the weekly menu, mostly because I’ve always been a sucker for the original Pink Sugar Cookie and wanted to see if the cake version lived up to it. Short answer: it mostly did, with a couple of caveats.
I bought it for $4.49 for large version. The first thing I noticed opening the box was the smell that almond frosting hits you before you even take a bite. The cake itself was still warm when I got it home (about a 10-minute drive). It wasn’t dry or crumbly like some sugar cookie cakes can be; more soft and slightly dense, closer to a blondie than a fluffy cake.
The frosting is really what makes this dessert. It’s sweet, but the almond flavor cuts through enough that it doesn’t feel like you’re just eating sugar on top of sugar. If you’re not a fan of almond extract, though, this one might not be for you.
A couple of honest notes:
- It’s best eaten the same day. By the next morning, mine had firmed up in the fridge and lost some of that just-baked softness (microwaving it for about 10 seconds brought it back close to original).
- The large size is genuinely shareable. I split it three ways and everyone got a decent portion, so it doesn’t feel overpriced for what you get.
- If you love the original Pink Sugar Cookie, this scratches the same itch but feels more like an actual dessert-table item than a grab-and-go snack.
Would I order it again? Yes, but probably only when it’s back in rotation and I’m serving a couple of people rather than just treating myself — for a solo craving, I’d still reach for the regular cookie.
