My Review about it!
I picked up a Midnight S’mores Cookie during Country Week, mostly because I’ve always been a sucker for the original S’mores Cookie and wanted to see if the chocolate version could top it. Short answer: it mostly did, with a couple of caveats.
I paid $4.49, the same as I did for the Pink Sugar Cookie Cake last week. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was how chocolatey it looked. The dough is dark, the marshmallow on top is melted and glossy, and the drizzle and graham crumbs make it look like a proper s’more. The cookie was soft and thick, closer to a fudgy brownie-cookie than a crisp cookie.
The chocolate is what makes this one. The dark dough and the milk chocolate chips give it a deeper flavor than the original, so it doesn’t feel like sugar on top of sugar. The marshmallow adds the gooey s’mores part, and the graham crumbs on top give a bit of crunch and buttery flavor.
A couple of honest notes:
- It’s rich, so it’s best shared or eaten in two sittings. I couldn’t have finished a whole one without a glass of milk.
- It’s best the same day. Marshmallow toppings firm up once they cool, so it loses some of that just-baked gooeyness.
- If you love the original S’mores Cookie, this feels like the “midnight” version of it: darker, heavier, and more chocolate-forward.
Would I order it again? Yes, but probably when it’s back in rotation and I’m in a real chocolate mood. If you want something lighter and graham-heavy, I’d still reach for the original.
